Teacher's quality of life in Yala province, Thailand

Abstract

Teachers are the key persons in successful of the educational system. The strengths and quality of the educational system are upon the quality of teachers and their performance. This study aims to determine the quality of life among teacher in Yala province. The quality of life (QoL) in Yala province is depicted by Quantum GIS (QGIS). The results show that teachers in primary educational service area 1 and 2 had a moderate level of QoL, and teachers in primary educational service area 3 had a good level of QoL. Teachers in all of the primary educational service area had a moderate level in the physical domain and environment domain. According to QoL in the psychological domain, teachers in primary educational service area 1 and 3 had a good level and those in primary educational service area 2 had a moderate level. Teachers in primary educational service area 3 were classified to a good level in social relationship. However, a moderate level of quality of life was found in primary educational service area 1 and 2. This study provides information about QoL among teachers in three different areas according to the primary educational services area. The information can be used for development planning to improve QoL among teacher in specific area of Yala.
