Abstract
The preparation of core-stabilized polyion complex (PIC) micelles entrapping enzymes was investigated. The PIC micelles were prepared from the anionic block copolymer, polyethylene glycol (PEG-P) and a cationic enzyme, bovine pancreas trypsin by cross linking with glutaraldehyde through the Schiff base formation. The stability of PIC micelles entrapping enzymes was found to be improved by introducing cross-linking in the core with glutaraldehyde. The results provided a concept in the design of bionano-reactor potentially useful as protein delivery systems.
