Abstract

The radiorelease technique was adapted to flow-injection analysis for the determination of vanadium. The sample solution containing vanadate(V) is injected into a carrier stream of acetate buffer before passing through a microcolumn of silver powder labelled with 110mAg. The activity of released silver ions, measured by means of a flow-through gamma scintillation counter, is proportional to the concentration of vanadium in the injected solution. The relationship between peak height and concentration is linear.
