Abstract
The objective of this paper was to analyze and design the new dataset that could represent the traffic accident situations in terms of data managements. Accident conditions, involving patients and hospitals, were required in the new data model. One of crucial things to decrease their damage or even deaths from road traffic injuries is the coordination among government agencies from all sectors in the Ministry of Public Health. Moreover, it is also necessary to link data from various sources for prompt monitor and control. In this research, data from 4 different sources under the Ministry of Public Health were collected and analyzed. Subsequently, the new dataset with mapped structure and standard was created. Data obtained were utilized for analyzing and mining on the relationship of data, and later presented via the web application. The results revealed that these data were all in different standards or formats. Some variables were stored either in the same standard but different formats, or the different standards but same format. Moreover, data from these different sources were required to transform before mapping into the linkage. Some variables must be complied with the international standard such as ISO or IEC5218. Moreover, using the web application with a new dataset was easier to manage, monitor, and track accident data. For example, graph on accident rate, accident map and severity of accidents in different areas, cause and types of accident in each area were included.
