Abstract

To solve intellectual property issues of the distributed digital multimedia, digital watermarking schemes have extensively been researched and developed for either copyright protection or content authentication. One type of them whose purpose is copyright protection called a robust watermark since it is resistant to various kinds of both malicious and non-malicious manipulations. On the other hand, a fragile watermark is used for the purpose of content authentication since it is extremely sensitive to any malicious manipulations. In order to accomplish the purposes of both copyright protection and content authentication, we presented a novel multipurpose image watermarking scheme based on single value decomposition. The robust watermark and the fragile watermark are simultaneously embedded by modifying the single values of the original image. Each watermark of the proposed scheme is independently and blindly extracted. Experimental results demonstrate the performance of the proposed scheme in terms of imperceptibility, fragility and robustness.
