Climate change is one of the most complex challenges of our time, which entails significant changes and risks in terms of socio-economic processes and the natural environment, including in the transport sector. In order to move towards sustainable urban transport, society's mobility needs must be met in an environmentally friendly and economically efficient manner. In addition to the sustainability aspects of mitigating climate change and preparing for its expected impacts, it is also appropriate to consider the challenges of the digital transition and its impacts. Digital technology increases the efficiency of the sector, thus creating opportunities for system flexibility. The research examines the technical and technological innovative solutions emerging in the sector in relation to urban transport. Climate-oriented smart solutions can significantly contribute to addressing social challenges, but at the same time they can also entail negative social externalities that should be kept in mind during both planning and implementation.
