Virology and immunology with a focus on virus surveillance, host-pathogen interactions, immune responses to viral infections, and the use of metagenomics to detect emerging viruses. Development and application of immunodiagnostic tools for viral infections. Specific interests include enteroviruses, influenza virus, and Varicella-Zoster virus.
