Personal profile

Research interests

Currently, I am an instructor at the Department of Medical Science, Amnatcharoen Campus, Mahidol University. Teaching several basic biology subjects to undergraduate students broadens my understanding of the biochemistry and molecular biology of life, including cell and molecular biology, medical genetics, and pathophysiology. In parallel, my background is a biochemistry by training who became fascinated by finding the molecular mechanisms for biology and medicine. My research interest focuses on the association between oxidative stress and epigenetics, particularly in relation to carcinogenesis and cancer progression. Our goal is to comprehend and pinpoint the molecular targets underlying these phenomena. Initiated with some studies in cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). Additionally, I am fascinated by the roles of cancer stem cells and their implications in tumorigenesis. In addition, my interests are now expanding to longevity genes and their potential impact on cancer susceptibility. For example, my research utilized molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, Methylation-specific PCR (MSP), Real-time PCR, Immunocytochemistry, western blot analysis, cell culture, siRNA knockdown, and plasmid transfection of over-expression technique). Moreover, I am now working on a research project on evaluating the molecular mechanism underlying the antimicrobial activity of plant-derived compounds against Helicobacter pylori. In summary, by combining these diverse research interests, I aim to contribute to the field by uncovering novel insights into cancer biology and paving the way for innovative therapeutic strategies.
