TaqMan Array Card (TAC): Cutting-Edge Technology for Multiplex Pathogen Detection

Facility/equipment: Equipment

    Equipments Details

    Description

The TaqMan Array Card (TAC) is an advanced real-time PCR technology that combines the power of microfluidics with a compact card-based system. It allows simultaneous detection of dozens to hundreds of pathogens using only a small sample volume.

Each card is pre-designed with highly specific primers and probes, ensuring exceptional accuracy and reliability. This technology significantly shortens testing time, reduces sample requirements, and enhances detection efficiency—making it a game-changer in research and diagnostic applications.

Ideal for both clinical diagnostics and large-scale studies, TAC offers a powerful solution for rapid, high-throughput, and precise pathogen identification.

    Pathogens detectable with TAC
The TaqMan Array Card (TAC) panel is designed to detect a wide range of microorganisms commonly responsible for acute febrile illness (AFI) in the region. The comprehensive coverage includes:

    Viruses (9 types):
Dengue virus, Zika virus, Chikungunya virus, Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV), Enterovirus, Hepatitis A and E viruses (HAV, HEV), Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), and Cytomegalovirus (CMV)

    Bacteria (12 types):
Leptospira, Rickettsia species, Orientia tsutsugamushi, Burkholderia pseudomallei, Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella species, and others

    Parasites (1 type):
    Plasmodium species (malaria)

Note: The exact list of pathogens may vary depending on the selected panel.

    Sample types supported
This service supports a variety of clinical specimen types, offering flexibility for both research and diagnostic purposes:

    Serum
    Plasma
    Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF)
    Nasopharyngeal swab
    Urine

These options allow tailored sample collection strategies based on research needs or clinical presentation.
