Description	On January 24, 2025, the scientific community marked the official launch of Imaging Southeast Asia (iSEA), the first regional network designed to unify and support bioimaging professionals across the ASEAN region. While bioimaging is often viewed as a secondary supporting tool in Southeast Asia, iSEA seeks to re-establish it as a critical, standalone scientific discipline. The network addresses unique regional challenges—including geographical fragmentation, language barriers, and unequal access to infrastructure—by fostering a collaborative ecosystem. Founded by leaders from HHMI Janelia, Monash University Malaysia, and A*STAR, and inspired by global networks like LABI and ABIC, iSEA aims to bridge research gaps, improve data reproducibility, and accelerate scientific discovery. Through international training, industry partnerships, and dedicated regional events—including a flagship meeting planned for late 2025 in Malaysia—iSEA provides a platform for imaging scientists to secure funding, share expertise, and shape the future of biological and biomedical research in Southeast Asia.
